ROMANS 6

Let’s take a look at “Shall we continue in sin,”we often use the dictionary meaning of the word” continue” which is to do something without stopping ,sin as used there now becomes actions rather what it really is as rendered in the original Greek and Hebrew translation which is the way the bible was originally written.Continue is the Greek word “epimeno” which means stay over, remain, tarry, abide.Sin in this context isn’t the actions of sin but a place,a position. The sin position and the righteousness position. Look at the illustration he used in Chapter 7,at the death of the husband, the woman is released from the law binding her to the husband,at his death, she is free to marry another man.Sin was the former husband, sin was put to death, all ties between us and sin as been severed legally we are now married to Christ.ROM 6:1-23 and Rom7:1-6.Gal2:19-21,Gal4:1-31.
Let me give you another,We were prisoners, but someone served our punishment, our sentence,we have been freed,we have a new identity, not ex-slaves but sons of the King.Paul is asking, would rather remain in your jail cell of sin, living there,or would you by faith lay hold on your new position, your new home which is in Christ.
Rom6:1 question wasn’t a question of actions but of a position, of a place, you have an option,Paul was saying, would you choose to remain,to stay,to abide,in a place you have been set free from,do you want to still let that wicked slave driver you’ve been freed from, control you?Don’t you know as one who is born again, you have Lord who is Christ,Rom6:6-14.
“Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life—no longer at sin’s every beck and call! What we believe is this: If we get included in Christ’s sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life-saving resurrection. We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end. Never again will death have the last word. When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but alive he brings God down to us. From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word. You are dead to sin and alive to God. That’s what Jesus did. That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don’t give it the time of day. Don’t even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time—remember, you’ve been raised from the dead!—into God’s way of doing things. Sin can’t tell you how to live. After all, you’re not living under that old tyranny any longer. You’re living in the freedom of God.
Romans 6:6‭-‬14 MSG

You wind up frustrated when you interpret that scripture wrongly, scriptures in Rom12:2 ,that we should be transformed by the renewal of our mind, our spirit is saved, our flesh and soul are not.We are transformed 2Cor3:18 by God’s word. The way out,the way to live out the righteousness of God in you isn’t by trying to,it is in that scripture Rom6:11-13,yield yourself to God,you have the ability, you have the nature of Christ in you, stay fellowshipping with God,allow the spirit lead you and keep those words in your heart, meditate on them, the rughteous nature you already have will begin to manifest
